Jean Paul Gaultier FW1988 knit cardigan with velvet front and different colours and patterns throughout. A wonderful example of the whimsical and special, yet always fully thought through, design of a young Jean Paul. A black border circling the collar, going down the front holding the buttons and covering the bottom hem and back of the waist, gives structure to the overall silhouette of the piece and holds everything together, also visually. The rusty red of the velvet is mirrored by the shimmery buttons, the sleeves are yellow and black, the back green, burgundy and black and the pockets have little knit details in a lighter blue as well. Overall perfection.

Some signs of age, in overall great vintage condition, no flaws.
